You will find out about:
Hormone imbalances rarely occur in isolation. This module will mainly
focus on sex hormone imbalances and their interrelationships with other
hormones.
Hormone regulation is fundamental to fertility and the continuation of
the species. The module will explore the plethora of complex and often
conflicting data on the effects of environmental and food toxicants on
hormone regulation with a view to designing appropriate nutritional programmes
in the management of complex but relatively common hormonal problems in
men and women.
Learning outcomes: the activity should enable the participant to:
1. Critically review a nutritional approach for the design and implementation of a nutritional therapy programme for a complex hormone problem based on comprehensive clinical assessment.
2. Draw on a range of sources of evidence including clinical experience to present a nutritional therapy approach for the management of a complex hormone problem based on comprehensive clinical assessment.
3. Cogently communicate complex, incomplete and/or contradictory research data about the causes of hormone disruption.
4. Identify the most appropriate clinical assessment tools for the management of a chosen scenario for a man or woman with complex hormonal problems.
5. Offer resolution to informational conflicts using own ideas
6. Reflect on and take account of social, cultural, ethical and financial issues when working with adults with complex hormonal problems.
